I grew up one of twelve kids in Boston. We were poor. We moved constantly. Nobody was coming to hand me anything, so I figured out how to go get it myself. That mindset has never changed.

Darryl J. Cunningham’s story is built on resilience, real world experience, and a relentless drive to move forward. At 13, he spent a year working alongside his father in an eighteen wheeler instead of attending school, hauling freight and learning how the world actually works. That experience shaped everything that followed—how he leads, how he builds, and how he defines what it means to earn something.

He started his entrepreneurial journey in high school, earning more than many of his teachers before graduating. He later attended Northeastern University before earning a degree in Computer Information Systems from Westfield State University, working over 70 hours a week to pay his own way through.

His early career was built from the ground up, building and managing multiple family restaurants, selling copiers door to door, and outworking everyone in the room. He became one of the youngest sales professionals in the country to finish number one multiple years in a row, opening the door to senior executive roles in the software industry. There, he built global teams from scratch, scaled operations across more than 30 countries, and drove the kind of growth that leads to real outcomes—successful acquisitions by Fortune 500 companies.

From there, he turned that same intensity inward, launching and growing businesses across construction, consulting, and property management, applying the same street level instincts he developed long before he ever held a title.

EVERY BUSINESS. EVERY TEAM. EVERY DECISION. BUILT FROM EXPERIENCE, NOT A CLASSROOM.

Today, Darryl and his wife live in Boston, where he continues to build and operate several businesses, including VIP Property Manager, recognized as one of the city’s top boutique property management companies. Outside of business, they share a passion for travel. Italy has become a second home. Along the way, Darryl became a certified sommelier and is developing a wine business he plans to launch when the time is right.

At the core of everything he does is one belief: you lead by showing up, not by talking about it. He listens. He engages. He delivers. And he holds himself to the same standard he expects from everyone around him. No exceptions.

Have a Mission is what happens when you take decades of that mindset and put it on paper. It is not a motivational book. It is not theory. It is a direct challenge—to stop waiting, take ownership, and start moving. The 30/30 Experience exists because Darryl believes a real conversation is worth more than any chapter he could write.

Thirty minutes to read. Thirty minutes one on one that could change everything. No sugarcoating. Just the truth and a push in the right direction.
